Background & challenges

The Groupe Pierre Fabre has called on InovaYa to optimize its water management. The Soual plant has been chosen as a test site for a "dry" plant. This project, which is still underway, will enable 64% of process water to be reused, reducing water consumption by 70%. Thanks to the conclusions of the audit, the Soual plant has already been able to optimize certain aspects of its process and, thanks to our recommendations, has been able to reduce its current consumption by 10%.

  • Audit | Feb. to Jul. 2022
InovaYa discovers the internal processes at Pierre Fabre's Soual plant and gathers information on local needs and constraints.

During this first audit phase, InovaYa was able to meet the Pierre Fabre teams at the Soual site, discover and understand their internal processes, gather their needs and analyze their local constraints. The audit identified several avenues for improvement in order to reduce their water consumption by 70%, in particular through optimized management of their process water and the reuse of wastewater from their site. Thanks to the implementation of certain solutions proposed by InovaYa, this audit phase has already enabled the Soual plant to reduce its process water consumption by 10%.

  • 1st part of the feasibility study | Apr. to Nov. 2023

This period was devoted to a study of the regulatory and technical feasibility of different WASTE scenarios identified at the Soual plant. InovaYa proposed several possible solutions for both black and grey water treatment. At the end of this phase, we presented the Pierre Fabre Group with 4 grey water management scenarios and 3 black water management scenarios. In-depth analysis of each of these scenarios enabled the Group to choose the best solutions for eventually turning their plant into a "dry plant".

  • 2nd part of the feasibility study | March to Dec. 2024

The aim of this new phase of the project is to study in greater depth the various technical aspects of the chosen solutions. As quality is one of Pierre Fabre's core concerns, it was particularly important for the group to obtain a proof of concept before launching the construction phase. This is why InovaYa has developed a pilot unit capable of producing "drinking water" quality water from the site's process wastewater. Pilot tests are underway directly at the plant for a period of 5 months. At the same time, we are working on putting together the regulatory authorization file and putting together a complete file for the consultation of companies in order to select those who will become stakeholders in the project.

  • Installation of selected solutions | 2025 to 2027

The Pierre Fabre Group's ambition is to transform its Soual plant into a "dry factory". We'll be supporting them in this ecological transition over the course of a year's work to help them achieve this objective and enable them to manage their water more sustainably.

    For better water management

"Our Soual industrial site is being supported by InovaYa to reduce our water consumption. Thanks to their regulatory and technical expertise, our ambition is to have water consumption almost exclusively linked to the composition of our products, to become a dry factory. There is a strong parallel between our two companies in terms of our commitments. It's important for us to make an even greater commitment to sustainable industrial transformation."
