Clarify and purify contaminated tap water with aYa®

DiscoveraYa®, our compact water purification and disinfection unit—a reliable and sustainable solution that ensures safe water right at the point of use.

An aYa unit has been installed on the Plastic Odyssey ship to provide the crew with safe drinking water.
The aYa® is a compact water purification unit.

Minimalist technology for quickly purify water

The aYa® is a water purification unit based on pre-ultrafiltration technology. Its purpose is to clarify and disinfect clear water with a low particle load without the use of chlorine. The aYa® blocks viruses, bacteria, and suspended particles while preserving the minerals naturally present in the water. In the event of temporary or long-term deterioration in the quality of municipal water, it offers a highly practical solution for ensuring safe water at the point of use.

With a production capacity of up to1 m³/h, it helps avoid the use of numerous plastic bottles. Furthermore, it perfectly meets the needs for safe drinking water in Public Access Facilities (PAFs).

An efficient, self-contained, and easily deployable water purification unit

Durable and long-lasting
  • Robust, corrosion-resistant materials
  • Low power consumption (36 W)
  • No chemicals or supplies are needed on a daily basis
Autonomous and easy to use
  • Quick Plug & Play installation directly on the network or at a water cooler
  • Simplified maintenance thanks to automated backwash cycles with treated water
  • Low maintenance

For ensuring the safety of the municipal water supply efficiently

The aYa® operates without consumables or chemicals and requires very little maintenance. It is controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) that manages the production and backwash cycles, providing the operator with a high degree of autonomy. The aYa® uses an ultrafiltration membrane that acts as a physical barrier to trap fine particles, bacteria, and viruses. The system ensures a continuous supply of safe water, directly at the point of use.

A daily impact at various levels

When water quality in a distribution network deteriorates, the most common alternative for meeting the drinking water needs of affected residents is to provide them with plastic bottles of water. Adoptingthe aYa®, the water purification unit, also means choosing a more ethical and environmentally friendly alternative to ensure access to drinking water for a population facing water shortages.

About us
4,000 beneficiaries That’s the number of people who, thanks to a single aYa®, can access disinfected and safe drinking water to meet their basic needs
16,000 bottles That is the average number of plastic bottles that can be saved each day (or about half a ton of plastic per day)
2 tons That’s how many tons of CO2 are saved each day by installing a single aYa® water security unit

To reduce the use of plastic water bottles on the boat

Thanks to the aYa® system installed on board the Plastic Odyssey since the summer of 2022, the Plastic Odyssey crew has a continuous supply of safe drinking water produced from the ship’s ballast water. Every month, the aYa® system prevents the use of 900 plastic water bottles.
